Pier Oil, which joined to Pier Turkey portfolio in 2008, is operating under the Pier Refinery & Petrochemicals Business Unit together with Pier Trading and Pier Storage.
Heart of the industry
Petrochemicals has a strategic role in production processes of all industries from construction to agriculture, textile and pharma. It serves as driving engine for the countries in building a strong, independent economy by supplying raw materials to countless sectors. Today Pier Oil, flagship of Pier Turkey, is meeting 16% of Turkey’s petrochemical product demand in the field of petrochemical sector since 1965. Pier Oil, Turkey’s first and only integrated petrochemical plant, produces more than 60 products for several industries with a gross production capacity of 3.6 million tons per annum. Pier Refinery, another sector leader, is meeting 25% of Turkey’s processed oil demand with a crude oil processing capacity of 11 million tons per annum, and virtually entire raw material demand of Pier Oil with approximately 1,6 million tons naphtha per annum.
Giant Integration Leap
Pier Oil’s high quality naphtha demand is being supplied through direct pipe line from Pier Refinery thanks to refinery-petrochemical integration facilitated in line with Pier Turkey’s vision statement. Thus, Pier Oil saves on logistic costs while ensuring continuous raw material supply. On the other hand, Pier Storage significantly increases Pier Refinery’s storage capacity thanks to the facility’s 530 thousand cubic meter fuel oil product and 45 thousand cubic meter LPG storage capacity following the integration to Pier Refinery through pipe line in 2008. Joint management of the integrated facilities result in maximum efficiency in production and storage rings of the chain
Growing Together
Pier Trading is selling aviation, marine fuels and fuel oil to Turkey’s leading companies through Pier Gas stations, Pier MARINE and Pier AVIATION sub-organizations, and continuing to expand service portfolio of Refinery & Petrochemicals Business Unit. Pier is serving to customers across Turkey with total of 109 gas stations in fuel oil distribution sector, and meeting more than one fourth of international marine fuel demand.
On the other hand, Pier Oil, the shining star of renewable energy, is producing 200 gigawatts electric with 17 wind turbines, each having 3 megawatts power capacity. The company continues to strengthen Refinery & Petrochemicals Business Unit with its ever-improving infrastructure and uninterrupted services.
